Advanced Performance
The Volkmann 9000 Digital Adjustable-Speed AC Drive invorporates a proprietary PWM sinusoidal waveform designed especially to high speeds. Our improved PWM technology and IGBT devices result in a more perfect sine wave, free of subharmonics and without DC current. This can increase the bearing and insulation lives of high-speed spindles.
Fully Digital, High-Resolution Control
Our 16-bit Microprocessor and proprietary Gate Array function allow operating decisions and closed loops to be carried out with extremely high speed. It also ensures high accuracy while offering speed resolution as low as 0.01 Hz. The inverter software developed by Graseby Volkmann Corporation (GVC) permits a substantial improvement in fault protection and indication of the operating circuits. The GVC software, which facilitates inverter operations, allows a variety of custom operations, as well as adding many more standard features that others consider special. The Series 9000 is designed for applications in which advanced control equipment, such as machine tools and test stands are required.
Low Noise
The improved current waveform obtained by the Gate Array permits a reduction of output current ripple, which results in a reduction of magnetic noise and motor vibration. The drive and motor run quietly because of a high carrier frequency.
Easy Operation
The dirve is easy to operated and program with only a few simple key operations. A well- engineered keypad and four-line, 80 character LCD display are used for all inquiries, messages and indications. Information is displayed in plain English with no special code. A "HELP" button provides user-friendly support.
